❄️ Caviahue, Argentine Patagonia

THE SNOW VILLAGE

Caviahue is one of those places that shifts your rhythm the moment you arrive: pure air, silence, snow everywhere, and the volcanic energy of Copahue nearby.

It’s the perfect setting for a Wim Hof experience: real nature, authentic cold, and a tribe-like community. Here, winter is not just weather — it’s landscape, challenge, and transformation.

The Instructor

Fede Gerle — Coach specialized in breathwork and cold exposure. Certified Advanced Instructor of the Wim Hof Method® (Level 2) and Oxygen Advantage breathing instructor.

I was the only instructor from Latin America selected to work alongside Wim Hof during the Winter Expedition in Sweden (December 2025), where I guided over 250 people from around the world through breathing practices and cold exposure in extreme conditions.

I have guided more than 500 people through their first ice immersion, creating safe, conscious, and transformative experiences. As part of my personal practice, I have completed ascents in extreme cold environments such as Lanín Volcano (Neuquén, Argentina) and Mount Sněžka (Poland), applying breathwork, cold exposure, and mental training.

I collaborate with professionals in yoga, meditation, and nature-based practices, integrating movement, breath, and presence to create deep and sustainable wellbeing experiences.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it worth it?
Absolutely. There is nothing quite like this experience, and each expedition is unique. You arrive one way and leave another—this kind of journey is truly transformative.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes, the expedition is for participants aged 25 and older.
Do I need prior experience with the Wim Hof Method or cold exposure?
No. We start from the basics and build progressively with safe practices. All activities are optional.
If I already have experience, will I still gain something new?
Absolutely. Your experience will help you go deeper and get more out of the activities. You’ll still face new challenges and experiences you’ve likely never had before.
Do I have to do cold exposure? What if I don’t want to participate?
All activities are optional. You can choose to experience the cold or simply participate without getting in the water or exposing yourself.
Is the expedition only about cold exposure?
Yes and no. The experience is based on the Wim Hof Method, combining cold exposure, conscious breathing, and mental training. We also include yoga, meditation, hikes, and other activities that create a cohesive and meaningful journey.
What is the schedule like? Is there free time?
Our philosophy is to stay open and adaptable. While there is a daily structure, we don’t share the full schedule in advance. Activities typically begin around 8 AM and run until late afternoon near dinner time. Each day is unique. There is some free time, usually around meals or at the end of the day.
Are there any contraindications?
Yes. You should not participate if you are pregnant, have heart conditions, uncontrolled hypertension, epilepsy, or kidney issues. If you experience panic attacks or anxiety disorders, consult your therapist and attend with support. When in doubt, consult your doctor.
Can anyone join?
Yes, as long as you don’t have any of the contraindications mentioned above and are over 18 years old.
Do you have experience organizing retreats and expeditions?
Yes, we have organized more than 7 retreats and expeditions in Patagonia over the past 3 years. You can see more here.
